We always put family first. One big issue I would like to address is how
the illegal aliens are allowed to come into this country and are getting college
assistance while people here are struggling to pay for college or can't even pay
for college. An example would be my wife for instance. She has a bachelor's
degree, but a large amount of student loans she has to pay off, in which I also
incrued because I am married to her. However, illegals get their college for
free in places like Arizona and California. I believe if we were to get them
out of our country, we could set-up a program to help our nation's children go
to college, even if they can't afford to do so. Education is very essential and
wasting it on non-citizens is a waste not only to our money as Americans, but
it's a waste to placing another American in the workplace.
There are also things on television we would like to get rid of, such as
Spongebob. My daughter has watched them and I noticed her behavior changes when
I've taken her away from such "trash". She's actually becoming smarter and not
trying to use "baby talk" when speaking with my wife and all; she's six years
old by the way. We also want to get rid of Dora and Diego because we are an
English speaking nation, not Spanish. If our children want to learn a foreign
language in highschool, that will be on their own free will. Most people in the
world have come to understand English far better than any other language in the
world. I am a Iraq/Afghansitan Veteran and I can say I've also been to other
countries out there. I have yet been to a country that anyone has had a problem
understanding English. I think our Government has become too politically
correct when it comes to the Language speaking and our children have far greater
concerns in their lives than speaking Spanish.
As far as discipline with children, we do believe kids do deserve a good
"spanking". I grew up with them, just as many of the other guys in the
organization have. Many kids have gotten out of hand because they know they
will not be hit on the rear end and because of this, they are very
disrespectful. People should know where to draw the line as far as child abuse,
but a belt on the butt to me is not considered child abuse; it's discipline.
Kids who don't respect their parents will turn out to be criminals that tax
payers are keeping in the jails, which costs even more money.
We do believe in the 2nd Amendment. The government is going overboard
trying to confiscate arms from the American people; it's a communist tactic and
should be stopped. I do believe people should have to go to a firearms class
when they are 12 or 13 as I did for hunter's safety and education. This way,
unless you have this kind of permit, you wouldn't be allowed to purchase a
weapon because how are we to know you know how to use such a "tool"? I also
served in Law Enforcement for a few years, and the one thing I learned in their
weapon's safety class was "an unloaded weapon is a dangerous weapon". Point and
case, there were many cases where kids were finding their parents handguns,
thought they were unloaded and wanted to play cops and robbers. Needless to
say, siblings were killed "accidentally" because of an "unloaded" handgun. But,
it's like I've told everyone else around me, people have been killing others
with stones since the stoneage, so don't think for a second that a firearm is
the only thing that can kill someone. Also, just because you ban firearms,
criminals will still have them, therefore you'll actually do more harm than good
disarming the public.
For the military, I could probably write you a book on it. I know I only
served 12 years with them and was retired out, however, I got to see the side
where our hands weren't tied to the point our hands were so tied that our guys
were second guessing themselves on when to fire their weapons, which made me
more nervous. I think the government has turned them into a politically correct
organization and it's terribly wrong. They trained us to fight and destroy, yet
when we go overseas, we are told we aren't allowed to do what we are trained to
do. Instead, we are supposed to "win the hearts and minds" of the people who
are mortaring us on a daily basis and not attack back. We are sent to countries
who don't want us there, who spit in our faces and burn our American flag, yet
we are supposed to be nice to them? I don't think so. My intent is to bring
all of them home and beef up our borders. We need to keep more security around
our borders and keep the illegals out. Believe it or not, most of our drug
cartels are coming up through there and I've come up with many ideas on how to
stop them with the strategies we were taught in the military. I'm not
politically correct and General Patton is one of my favorite Generals along with
General Schwarzkopf, so you probably know and understand my intent. The navy
will get to help the coatguard with these submarines and such in the gulf as
well. I think they could use the training and it will help cut down on our drug
problems.
If you want to know about the Abortion thing, I don't believe in them,
unless the girl/woman was raped and then became pregnant. I don't think they
should have to go through with bringing a child in the world by someone who gave
them such a horrible experience because it could be even worse on them. One
traumatic experience does not need another, meaning, she shouldn't have to look
at a child the rest of her life and remember that tragic day. On the flipside
of the coin, if you both decided to have sexual relations, then you both have to
deal with the consequences.
Welfare and other things will also have to be re-worked with people who are
stealing from the government. Here in Monroe, I've heard of people trying to
buy tattoos and such with their foodstamps and all kinds of crazy things.
People like that are thieves and should be punnished by the law. It will be a
long process, but it can be done.
